Probably not: It depends on the particular med but most sleep aides are contraindicated while breastfeeding.

Many variables: It depends, which sleeping pill are you taking? How long are you taking it?, will you still wake up to attend to your babies needs? How old is the breastfeeding infant? It is not the ideal not so much because the drug will harm the infant so much, but can you be awake enough to care for the infant. It is probably best to avoid it, but if you have an absolute essential need for one time use maybe.

Probably wouldn't: It is possible that the medicines will be found in the breast milk, and so, to be absolutely safe, i would avoid taking sleeping pills while you are breastfeeding your baby.
