A member asked:

I'm wondering how painful are chemical peels?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Different types of chemical peels cause different amounts of pain. Typically the aha (glycolic acid peels) are not painful as are the tca (tricholoracetic peels). The phenol or baker solution peels are not too painful at first, but the pain is secondary and the healing processes longer (7-10 days).
