Chemical : Chemical peels vary in their degree of discomfort they cause depending upon the agent and depth of peels. For that reason some of the deeper peels may be done under sedation.

Not typically: Commonly done chemical peels are not painful. The "chemicals" in chemical peels are derived from foods (milk, apples, almonds etc) and sometimes they are blended with vitamins, antioxidants to augment corrective results. After applied, you may feel mild to moderate prickly sensation that is short-lived. Based on peel strength flaking/peeling starts on day 3-5. Smoother, brighter skin by day 7-10
