Some: Diabetes is famous for sugar dysfunction. A corollary of this is damage to the blood vessels in the back of the eye, termed diabetic retinopathy. This can cause vascular swelling, leakage, hemorrhage into the middle of the eye, and various degrees of visually disruptive scarring. Cumulatively these events, untreated, can lead to permanent vision loss. See your retinal specialist for control.
