A member asked:

Could u know how long it would take to recover from surgery for chondromalacia, or runners knee?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends.: Depends on exactly what is done. Most recoveries are 2-3 months. But there are some procedures that require 6 months for full recovery. Ask your surgeon for the specifics of his/her rehabilitation protocol.
