Ask the cardiologist: A cardiologist will be the best physician to review your symptoms and tests to determine the need for testing to show what is wrong with the heart. The ekg and an ultrasound of the heart (echocardiogram) are non-invasive ways to learn quite a bit about the heart. If the symptoms warrant, a stress test or even a cardiac catheterization (angiography) may be necessary.
