Knot?: Knot is not a medical term so it's hard to advise you. Do you have stenosis (blockage)? Aneurysm (dilation)?, ectasia (dilation)? Tortuosity ("cork-screwing")? Whoever told you that your carotid is abnormal can probably best advise you of its significance.

Knot?: Depends on what you mean by "knot." there are carotid "kinks" and "coils, " which are twists and turns in the carotid artery that are quite typical in older patients but can be found in just about anyone. These are not dangerous at all and you should not limit your physical activity. If by "knot" you mean "blockage, " that is a little more serious but does not prevent you from being active.
