A member asked:

How to know if the optic discs for both eyes are similar to each other?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Examination: Discs are the site of the back of the eye where the main nerve exits the eye to send visual information to the brain. There exist a pattern of how these appear and generally they match each other within certain limits. These are examined routinely during a normal ophthalmologic examination and changes or disparity may be the cause for further examination to rule out some conditions.
