A member asked:

What are the odds of catching hcv by a razor in a barbershop even if the barber didn't seems to cut myself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HIGHLY UNLIKELY: Several ways hcv is transmitted--blood transfusion (rare after 1992), IV drug abuse, snorting Cocaine (not sure how/why), and rarely by sexual intercourse. The razor blade is not so good at holding onto the virus vs a bored-needle (small tube where blood/virus stay inside), so not likely the source of transmission. No breach of your skin makes this a no problem. So, smile! have fun learning!
