Tongue ulcers: Ulcers on the tongue are usually aphthous ulcers. There is no known definitive reason, but are often the result of stress, injury (biting the tongue), acidic foods. Ulcers can also be from a viral infection (herpes simplex virus). These ulcers heal by themselves in 7-10 days. See your dentist for an examination and diagnosis of the ulcers and raised bumps.
