It is a facelift: Facelift is not a very precise term. Many patients obtain the most benefit from a facelift in the neck and along the jawline. The individual result that the patient obtains depends on a number of factors: the elasticity of the skin, the amount of sun damage, heredity, luck and skill of the surgeon.

Necklift: The term facelift refers to a family of procedures designed to address excessive loose skin and sagging of the tissues in the cheek, jowl, and neck regions. Depending on your particular set of goals and anatomic characteristics, your surgeon should customize the procedure to give you the best result for your situation.

Definitely!: Facelifts ( not mini-facelifts) usually include lifting the neck so as to tighten and smooth neck muscle and skin. Prominent "cords" (platysma muscle edges) in the front of the neck can be addressed during a facelift, as well. More difficult to treat are transverse neck creases.

Cervicoplasty: The procedure for tightening a neck is commonly referred to as a cervicoplasty. It can be done from the front, under the chin (anterior) or from behind the ears (posterior) or both or using a lower facelift technique. It may involve removing fat and/or muscle rearrangement and/or skin removal.

Yes: Occasionally a posterior neck lift can be done without also doing a lower facelift. Laser assisted neck contouring (e.g. Accusculpt) is a good option to reduce fatty tissue bulk and create modest skin tightening. If the skin is not too loose and the primary concern is neck skin texture then fractional co2 (e.g. Eco2) laser skin resurfacing can dramatically improve the quality of the neck skin.

Yes: A formal face lift or a neck lift only are two procedures that can improve how your neck looks. Also, surgery in the front area of your neck is sometimes indicated or is done at same time of face / neck lift. All depends on what you need an what you want to see as result.

YES!!: Old wrinkled necks are one of the most common complaints that people have as they age. This can be tremendously improved with a neck lift or with lower facelift along with the jowls and jawline.

Neck lift: There are different types of neck lifts to address different anatomical variants just like there are different types of facelifts. Have your neck evaluated by a board certified facial plastic surgeon who specializes in these procedures.
