A member asked:

I have been having a sharp throbbing pain in my left breast, what could this be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Breast pain: The precise location matters. This may indicate a cyst or trauma with what is called 'fat necrosis.' This can hurt. If the pain is upper and outer area of the breast, then a lymph node could be swollen or inflamed. Throbbing suggests inflammation and this is of concern. A careful exam is essential.
