A member asked:

What quantity of sugar do you have to consume to get the diabetes?

Sugar and diabetes: Sugar does not cause diabetes. Diabetes is largely genetic, and exacerbated by obesity. Many obese people never get diabetes, and many people get diabetes without being obese. If you eat sugar to the point of getting obese, and you are genetically susceptible, then you may get diabetes.

Does not Cause: Sugar in itself does not cause diabetes. However, if you have diabetes, sugar can surely make it worse.
