A member asked:

Can myelodysplastic syndrome occur as a result of radiation treatment for a previous diagnosis such as prostate cancer? if so, what is the time frame after the original disease was treated in which it is most likely to occur?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Radiation treatments to the prostate are pretty focused and should not cause it . Pl be more specific about 'previous diagnosis needing radiation'.
