My 1st reaction would be to give it anther week. However only your Oral Surgeon knows the intensity off our surgery and your projected recovery curve. Your Surgeon is responsible for the post-surgical care to which you are entitle. Call him/her.

When the sutures are removed and the extraction site has healed over and no hole is open for debris to enter, than you can eat your desired foods. This takes at least 7-10 days, but consult your surgeon for best advice. Use a WATERPIK to flush out any debris that may have entered area.

Crunchy foods such as chips, crackers, and nuts may fall into the extraction site and hard to be removed. If the surgical site is not filled in (usually 28 days), using the curve syringe to push the water into the area and remove the food debris is recommended. It is ok to eat these foods (if you really want to) as long as you can remove the debris shortly afterward.
