A member asked:

I just had an mri that showed 2mm bulge at l5 and 3mm at l2 and 3. are these unusually big? any exercises to relieve pain? pain is horrendous!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not bad: It seems that the MRI scans show a 2mm bulge at L5 and and 3mm disc bulge at l2-3. These are small bulges and likely the result of the natural degenerative processes that occur over time. These are not likely the cause of your back pain. It is conceivable that if the disc is on one side and up against the nerve root, there can be leg pain. Muscle massage and relaxation exercises are helpful.
