A waste of time.: Trigger point injections are generally a waste of time. There is not evidence that these areas of soft tissue tenderness have any relationship to inflammation.

See below: Typically, it's a steroid, such as Kenalog and Lidocaine mixed together. You can just do one or the other as well or just use a needle - called dry needling.
