Trigger thumb injection 3 days ago. painful while injected, felt like nerve pain. now, base of thumb/hand flares w shocking nerve pain whenever grazed even lightly. like "funny bone" sensation. only been 72hrs, but i'm worried. is this permanent?

Notify the MD who performed the procedure. Most often post injection flare or pain resolves after a few days and is treated with cold applications. However since nerve or tendon damage can occur from injections your treating physician will most likely want to examine and advise you if symptoms persist.
