Discuss with surgeon: Cataract removal is highly effective and safe using modern ultrasound technology (phaco). Lense replacement can correct your basic visual power and you can decide whether you want near or far clarity. For extra payment, you can get a multifocal lens. All these options should be discussed with the surgeon. Cataract removal should be done when your vision starts to get impaired.

Depends: Difficult question to answer not knowing your particular eye. Not everyone is a candidate for all types of implants or Laser vs non laser procedures. Ask your ophthalmologist what you are a candidate for and then work backwards-- which combination will give me the closest to the post op vision you want. examples: glasses distance use or near/ no glasses at all/glasses both distance and near.
