What to eat: Eating homemade chicken noodle soup can help to mobilize mucus ; has an anti-inflammatory effect. Hydrate well with clear broths, water or add a small amount of lemon to chamomile tea. Pour boiling water over thinly sliced ginger. Steep 5 min. In a covered pot. Add 2 to 3 tbs honey ; sip. Try thyme tea. Although some recommend hot toddies for colds – use of alcohol is discouraged by others.
