Bird flu: The symptoms of the bird flu are essentially the same as the regular flu - fever, malaise, cough. The bird flu can progress to pneumonia, respiratory failure, and death. There is no known effective treatment but anti-viral agents like oseltamivir or amantadine can be tried.
