What happens if i need cataract surgery at 60? will i need new lens a decade or so later?

Unlikely: When you have cataract surgery your doctor is removing the cloudy lens(the cataract) and implanting a clear, artificial lens. Our goal as surgeons is to give you the best vision possible. Talk to your doctor about the options of artificial lens implants available to you to meet your needs. Once a cataract is removed it does not return.

No: Cataract surgery at age 60 means your natural lens has turned cloudy and affects your vision. Once the cloudy natural lens is replaced with and artificial lens it should last you a lifetime.

No: The lens implants last forever and will not need to be replaced in standard cases.
