A member asked:

Should my cheek and gum be getting more sore after having tooth extraction?

Usually not: It depends on the nature of the extraction and how long it has been. Usually there is some discomfort but this should resolve pretty quickly.

Sore cheek ; gum: Some post-operative discomfort is normal after an extraction. You now have a wound in your mouth. The amount of discomfort depends on the difficulty of the extraction, the size of the infection, and the amount of bone removed. Assuming you are following your surgeon's post-op advice, the pain will subside over the next 3-5 days. If not, call or return to the surgeon.
