Need details: Root canal is virtually painless. Your dentist should be able to walk you through it. Sometime due to the complexity of the case your dentist may refer you to a specialist (endodontist). Talk to your dentist about your concerns.

Best advice: Don't wait. The sooner the tooth is treated, the better the prognosis. Also, ther's good reason for seeing a specialist (endodontist).
