Go back: See your dentist and have it re evaluated. If done recently it may be hitting heavy on your tooth causing you the discomfort. If it's been awhile the tooth could be cracked. Any diagnosis needs an evaluation and x-ray.

See dentist.: See the DDS who did the root canal. If the general dentist did the root canal, he/she may refer you to an endodontist (root canal specialist) for opinion.
