How much tooth: If it's off at the gum line best to have an implant consultation. Other fractures that still preserve sufficient tooth structure can be restored. I tend to favor bonded posts with an esthetic porcelain crown. Generally speaking, a dentist will want 2-3mm of tooth structure above tissue all the way around the tooth to predictably restore it.

Broken tooth: A tooth that has had root canal therapy is not only brittle, but also has a good portion of the tooth missing. A post and crown would be a great choice for such a tooth.

See your dentist: for evaluation, x-rays and treatment options. You and your doctor will put together a treatment plan specific to your situation. Good luck.
