Docs can you explain, is there any risk of jaw locking or dislocating?

You can get lockjaw: If you open as wide as you can, you are usually dislocating your jaw. If you do this for too long, or too often, the ligaments that keep the jaw in check can be stretched and the jaw can go too far. If the muscles that attach to the jaw start to spasm when you open too far, they can prevent you from closing again. This is called an open lock. A closed lock is from the disk preventing opening.

Risk?: Are you saying that you have these problems? If so, you have a malfunctioning jaw joint that requires attention. Failure to do so may result in permanent negative joint alterations. May need splint, botox, malocclusion correction, exercises, medications, etc. All depends on the cause...see your Dentist.
