A member asked:

Can i possibly dislocate my jaw.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: You can sometimes dislocate your jaw by opening too widely. The mandibular condyle(s) can translate or move beyond the articular eminence in front of the ear(s). When that happens, your mouth is locked open. The other type of dislocation that can occur is when the meniscus or disc of the TMJ is dislocated and you cannot open or close completely without pain.
