Very bad: Having an abscess on and off means it turned chronic , and that damage the surrounding bone to that tooth and it might migrate to the nighbouring teeth or other vital organs, have taken care of asap , see a dentist.

Not good...: It needs to be treated definitively. Can't tell if it is periodontal or pulpal in nature... Either way needs to be treated locally by a dentist before it becomes an emergency. Make the call to save the tooth... It won't get any better on its own.
