It may be the bone: It may be part of your jaw bone that is remodeling after the extraction. If it is sore or getting larger have your dentist check it.

Ask your dentist: It depends how long ago you had the extraction, with time it can go down by itself. Your dentist will look at it and tell you if it is a normal occurrence or if it has to be removed. Usually if there is no pain or infection it is not an issue.
