May need months: You may need months of consistent dosing to know whether an ssri like fluvoxamine will help ocd. Your psychiatrist will also be adjusting your dose -- and you may need higher doses than most people do for depression alone or even other kinds of anxiety. 4-6 weeks: In my patients i like to generally see that there is a hint of improvement by the third week. I will not go beyond six weeks without improvement at what i think is a therapeutic dose without switching or augmenting the medication. Best wishes.
