Very common. : And, it can get worse as he starts to lose his baby teeth. Though not "normal", it is common and likely benign. In rare cases, especially if the child has a highly acidic diet (think lemonade!); or mild acid reflux, wear can become extensive. See your child's dentist for info--he should have been seen at age 1.

Yes: Unfortunately for the parents, it is very common. Sounds terrible and worrisome, but is common. Check to be sure he has not chipped any teeth from this. He should be seen by a pediatric dentist now to check his mouth and teeth and to get him used to seeing the dentist -- especially when it is new and easy and fun. Important to see the pedodontist, not the family (general) dentist

Isn't uncommon: In most cases, child teeth grinding sounds worse than it is. Isn't uncommon and normal.
