C6 radiculopathy: May be acute or chronic to be told by EMG of the neck and arms. If acute there should be some compression of the nerve root usually a disc or bone spur. If chronic there may not be compression, and a spinal cord stimulator above that level could help the pain.

Cervical radic.: Cervical radiculopathy can present like this. The numbness/tingling would go usually down the arm and into the thumb mostly for a C6 radiculopathy. A cervical epidural steroid injection can help tremendously for this. Surgery may be needed, but and esi and pt and oral anti-inflammatories should usually be tried first. Seek out an interventional pm;r or anesthesia pain physician in your area.
