A member asked:

Pins, needles and numbness after chiari operations and cervical discectomy. is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clarification: 1. After cervical discectomy some times the nerve root can be irritated or recover from compression to cause pins/needle sensation. 2. Chiari decompression usually will not cause pins/needle sensation in arms/legs, unless severe compression of the brain stem/or associated syrnix was noted in the initial mri.
