Hopefully None: I have treated many malocclusion cases with extraction of four premolars. The only medication you should expect to be on is post-extraction pain medication. You may require some over the counter ibuprofen/acetometophen during orthodontic treatment after tightening appointments. However, most of my patients rarely require any type of medication.

Mild pain meds: If extractions are required as part of an Orthodontic treatment regimen, mild OTC pain killers may be recommended, depending on the degree of difficulty of the extractions.. Ask the Dentist or Oral Surgeon for recommendation as it applies to your case.
