Retainer: I am not sure if i understood your question. Do you want to have a hawley retainer? And do you think your teeth need to be bad in order to get one? Your teeth do not have to be bad to benefit from a hawley retainer. The retainer is designed so that your teeth can remain in the current alignment. Please ask an orthodontist. If your alignment is bad, however, you may be told to treat 1st.
