Red, Yellow, Gray...: Unless the extraction site is completely covered by sutured gums, it is likely that you see clotting/clotted blood in the socket. Careful not to lose this blood clot, as it is nature's bandaid to protect the healing wound. The color will be red, then dark red to start. As the blood components break down, this color becomes more yellowish, then paler ; paler gray. The gums ; bone continue to grow.
