Antibiotics: Antibiotics are usually prescribed for a tooth infection. Have your oral surgeon evaluate the wound to determine if the medication is warranted.

Infection: If you think you have an infection it is important that it be treated correctly and as soon as possible. Return to the General Dentist or Oral Surgeon that removed the tooth for post-surgical care. If you truly have an infection, antibiotics are usually prescribed. Depending on the circumstance, additional treatment of the area, in addition to the antibiotics, may be recommended. Please seek care.
