Wrong Assumption: You assume just because you brush that you are immune to cavities.. Wish it was so easy! how well you brush, diet, flossing, and the quantity and condition of old restorations all play a role. Don't know what "so many cavities" means or the last time you were examined with radiographs.

Preventing cavities: This requires proper brushing and flossing, along with making sure you do it after every meal, and not before but after meals. What you eat also plays a role. I have patients all the time who think they have good oral hygiene, but in fact they don't. Finally, when were x-rays of all your teeth last taken? Many cavities form in between teeth and are not seen with just a visual. Ask your own dds.
