I brush twice a day and floss once a day. i also always chew gum, and don't eat too many sweets. how did i still get cavities?

Gum: My guess is that you are chewing gum with real sugar in it.

Lots of things cause cavities. #1 would be diet and frequency of any carbohydrate. You mouth bacteria may be only bad bacteria and you are missing the healthy ones. Consider oral probiotic. Hows your health? Are you on any medications? Is your mouth Dry? Hows your stomach, any acid reflux? I'd first look at your snacks and see if they have any carbs. If not, get your hygiene technique checkd
