Try: A finger nail file on the offending area of the retainer and remember less is more so take your time filing.

Best: The best thing to do is to return to your provider for an adjustment, and the sooner the better. Second best is to try to smooth, gently, a little bit at a time, the sharp area with an emery board/nail file.
