Depends: Depends on many factors. Often at our implant center (by design dental implant center) we are able to place another one at the time of removal. If the site still has sufficient bone and all infection is removed then it is possible, especially if the site will allow a larger diameter implant to engage new bone. Otherwise, clean out, graft, wait 3 months, place new implant. Discuss with surgeon.

4 – 6 month + x-ray: If this happens your dentist will need to graft the socket and wait until the bone has healed before attempting to place another implant. the formula is simple: 4 – 6 month + x-ray before new implant placement to the previous site.
