Dental implants: If your son is healthy, has adequate bone, and strong teeth next to the missing tooth, then he should be able to have an implant placed.

Still growing?: If your son is still growing, better to wait until all vertical bone growth has ceased. Talk this over with the practitioner that is scheduled to do the implant. I've had male patients go off to college and grow 4 inches. Implants, and the bone around them, do not grow vertically although the jaws and surrounding tissues may.
