Fever is not normal: Please call your dentist right away. Fever is not normal, and may indicate that he is experiencing a rapidly spreading infection. Fever is the body's response to fight against invaders--usually bacteria, in post-extraction cases. Swelling, fever, pain---some or all of these sometimes happen after extraction. It is easier to resolve if caught early. Please let your doctor know ; ask the next step.
