Unlikely: Anyone can have any reaction to a medicine, but the likelihood of this being a side effect is very low. As you know, that med is used to treat upper respiratory infections, and your symptoms are more likely related to the underlying infection rather then the medicine

Unlikely: Azithromycin or zithromax, does not cause a runny nose nor should it be prescribed for a runny nose. Zithromax is not an appropriate antibiotic for an upper respiratory bacterial infection. We live in an era where unfortunately antibiotics are overused. Whatever the reason for your being on an antibiotic, have a culture and sensitivity before being placed blindly on an antibiotic.

No: Runny nose either due to a viral infection or a sign of allergy .Azithromycin is an antibiotics and it works only on bacterial infection and so doesn't work on runny nose. Viral infection takes its own time to get better , paracetamol, rest and fluids can be treated for symptomatic relief. IF there is sneezing and itchy nose with runny nose antihistamines can be tried.
