Non-specific: A sed rate of 40 is elevated, but alone is non-specific and can be caused by several different underlying inflammatory causes. If you have pains and they persist, it would be recommended to continue to get a follow-up examination and evaluation by your treating dr. Who can use the sed rate elevation as one test already done in his/her diagnosing process. Best wishes.
