How do you work with adults who have adhd?

Personally: I provide a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and review the criteria for adhd including past history and i look for symptoms of it having occurred by age 12. I want to know which medications in the past have worked and which ones haven't and then there is a discussion as to which medication or medications would be the best given the patient's overall medical status and symptoms. In the event that psychotherapy is necessary, i will refer to a psychologist who is knowledgeable in the treatment of add or adhd.

Multiple Rc: I would reccomend a trial of stimulants or possibly some of the other effective medications. I would also recc getting involved with a counselor with experience with adhd to work on structure, organization, self esteem and evaluation the effectiveness of medication.
