Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine): Several, is cost- effective & works fine if doses more than once a day since it is not long-acting like the xr form.

It costs less: Manufactures of generic medications are allowed to make their product 75% to 125% as effective as branded medication. Generic Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) works well for many, but not all, people who did well on branded adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) including adults.

Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine): Would not recommend switching between brands, cost and efficacy are not same.

Usually OK: Although sometimes generics are not as effective as brand name drugs, with stimulants, especially immediate acting ones, there is usually good equivalence. In fact, under an agreement with shire (which originally made adderall) i believe that brand name Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is actually made by barr, a generic company! always good to monitor effectiveness with your doctor after a switch, though.
