Light: Shorter days effect many different aspects of our brains and our internal clocks, impacting a lot of cycles and endocrine functions. One approach to sad (seasonal affective disorder) is to increase your exposure to light, typically in the morning but make the day longer. Light exposure builds up melatonin which comes from serotonin. Both impact mood, melatonin imipacts sleep.
