A member asked:

Is it a good idea to start antidepressants in order to help me get to the root cause... assuming it's not clinical depression?

No.: Antidepressants serve their purpose for people that have diagnoses that merit them, but they don't work like Tylenol, (acetaminophen) they take about 1 month to 3 months to really be effective and may take a long period of time to wean off of them. Stopping those medications suddenly can produce a dangerous withdrawal.
